 What You'll Get to Do:

The Director / Sr Manager, Sourcing Category Management will lead a team of Category Managers responsible for the strategic sourcing of finished goods, including categories such as metal extrusions, hardware, and adhesives. This role combines sourcing strategy and operational execution, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while driving cost savings, supplier performance, and innovation. This leader will be directly involved in identifying suppliers in low-cost countries, leading contract negotiations and end-to-end category planning. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep expertise in category management, supplier relationship management, people leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy & Execution

  • Lead the development and execution of category strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee the category project pipeline, ensuring timely delivery and measurable impact.
  • Analyze market trends and supply risks to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Support product innovation through supplier collaboration.

 Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor a team of Sourcing Category Managers.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to build sourcing capabilities.

 Supplier Relationship Management

  • Research and identify new supplier opportunities, particularly in support of cost reduction, innovation, and risk mitigation.
  • Establish and maintain strategic supplier partnerships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Lead supplier consolidation efforts and support contract negotiations to streamline the supply base and enhance value.
  • Support supplier development programs and lead performance reviews.
  • Resolve escalated supplier issues and ensure continuity of supply.

 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, procurement, finance, etc.) to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
  • Act as a liaison between the sourcing team and senior leadership to communicate progress and challenges.

 Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Establish, monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for category performance.
  • Support contract negotiations and manage supplier agreements in collaboration with Legal.

 What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Proven experience managing teams and delivering sourcing value through category strategies.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Experience with SAP and data analytics tools preferred.
  • CPIM/ISM/CIPS certification a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

The salary range will be based on the candidate's experience and the level at which they are hired, as we are open to considering candidates for either the Director or Senior Manager position.

  • Director Salary: $175,000 - $215,000 annually, plus bonus
  • Sr Manager Salary: $131,000 - $160,000 annually, plus bonus
