Supvr - Shipping & Receiving (Finance)



POSITION SUMMARY

The Supvr - Shipping & Receiving supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on outgoing/incoming shipments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
• Determines required space and notifies proper person if loads are not completed or need to fill space on loads.
• Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
• Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel if needed.
• Maintains vehicle maintenance report.
• Directs movement of shipments from shipping area to storage and work area.
• Oversees incoming and FedEx/UPS shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
• Determines space requirements and position of incoming supplies
• Designs location stocking
• Inspects unloading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and notifies proper person in case of damaged or incomplete orders.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
• Additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field
• Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred
• 6+ years progressive warehouse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years in a leadership role
• Periodic travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
• High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment may be high.
