Tool Maker (Finance)



Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models to understand the required parts.
  • Use machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to manufacture tools, dies, and machine parts.
  • Measure finished parts to ensure they meet specifications using precise measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and test products to ensure functionality and quality.
  • Repair damaged and worn tools and dies.
  • Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Operate CAD software to design and modify tools and dies.
  • Coordinate with engineers and production staff to troubleshoot problems and understand specific requirements.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, in accordance with all STW documentation (if STW is not developed for any process within this job, proper training techniques must be followed).
  • Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; promote and sustain any and all CI, 5S and STW activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Perform mold and insert repairs to meet the Quality standards of the customer.
  • Maintain proper documentation on all repairs and PMs.
  • Work with engineering to schedule and order parts needed for repairs.
  • Ensure procedures are followed regarding proper paperwork including but not limited to receiving documents, Mold PMs, and Red Tag system.

Work Experience:

  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience
  • 2-5 years of experience with blueprint reading
  • 2-5 years of experience of operation of mill and lathe
