Field Service Aerial Technician (Architecture)

Pay Rate: $31.05 - $38.48 per hour
Pay is dependent on experience and education.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Repairs and maintains equipment to Wagner Equipment standards.
  • Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting
  • Performs field repairs as needed. Performs all repairs, annual inspections, and preventative maintenance services on high reach aerial equipment and material handling equipment. (i.e. Genie, JLG, MEC, etc)
  • Possesses the ability to operate, repair, and service multiple types of equipment and brands.
  • Makes determinations in the field on warranty repair and guidelines, communicating decisions to customer and dispatcher
  • Operates and maintains company service truck, as needed.
  • Continues career development to include on the job training, online, and instructor led training.
  • Conducts business professionally. Maintains self-control and integrity in stressful situations. Maintains a professional image.
  • Adheres to all customer requirements while on job site.
  • Orders parts required to complete repairs. Evaluates parts to determine reusability and cause of failure.
  • Completes service reports, time entry, and all other paperwork and reporting on a laptop and submits them daily via e-mail.
  • Communicates machine issues, problem resolution plan(s) and status of repair(s) to customer during repairs.
  • Adheres to all customer care standards.
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • • Excellent customer service skills.
  • • Familiar with ANSI A92 aerial work platform standards.
  • • Ability to self-schedule and perform duties with minimal supervision required.
  • • Knowledge and use of Microsoft computer products or other comparable systems required.
  • • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others to include customers, vendors, employees and the public.
  • • Ability to work overtime with minimal notice required.
  • • Ability to drive for long periods of time and overnight travel, as required.
  • • Consistent attendance.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Relevant CAT related courses
  • 3+ years' experience servicing heavy equipment
  • 1+ years administrative/clerical experience
  • 3+ years customer service experience 

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • DOT Health Card
  • Class D Driver's License
  • MSHA License

Competencies:

  • Data Entry, Telephone, Reading/Writing, Reasoning, Organizational, Communication & Math Skills
  • Product & Safety Knowledge
  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Intermediate Knowledge of DBS
  • Intermediate Knowledge of ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direction
  • Well-rounded knowledge of CAT equipment

Work Environment:

  • Noise: Loud, Environment: Indoors and Outdoors

Physical Demands:

  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc.
  • Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more

Travel Requirements:

  • 75%- 100%
