Sr. Engineering Manager - Digital Platforms (Engineering)

Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Digital Business Platforms 

 

Position Summary 

The F5 Digital Organization is at the forefront of modernizing how we operate—delivering innovative, scalable digital solutions that empower business functions across the company. We build agile, cloud-native platforms that enhance user experience, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic business goals. 

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead a team of full stack software engineers responsible for designing, building, and scaling digital business solutions. The team will work across SaaS platforms such as Salesforce and Oracle Fusion and develop custom integrations and applications using our cloud infrastructure. 

In this role, you will combine engineering leadership, architectural guidance, and delivery execution. You'll partner closely with Product, Enterprise Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Business stakeholders to drive high-impact outcomes. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background, a passion for mentoring engineers, and a bias toward innovation and operational excellence. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and grow a team of software engineers delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality business solutions. 

  • Drive the design, development, and deployment of applications built on SaaS platforms (Salesforce, etc.) and custom services leveraging iPaaS tools. 

  • Ensure high standards for software architecture, performance, quality, and maintainability across all solutions. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Product, Architecture, and Business Operations to define priorities, align outcomes, and manage delivery timelines. 

  • Guide the team in leveraging low-code/no-code configurations, APIs, and platform extensibility to meet evolving business needs. 

  • Foster a strong culture of agile software development, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence. 

  • Ensure proper DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, testing automation, and observability are built into team workflows. 

  • Support team growth and retention through coaching, mentorship, and career development. 

  • Manage resource planning, performance reviews, and budgeting as needed to support strategic initiatives. 

  • Advocate for modern development practices, reusability, and secure-by-design principles. 

  • Help shape long-term technology strategy and contribute to broader platform architecture decisions. 

 

Qualifications 

  • 8–10+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in engineering leadership or people management roles. 

  • Hands-on experience building and delivering applications on Salesforce or similar SaaS platforms. 

  • Experience with integration and automation platforms (iPaaS) like MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, or Oracle Integration Cloud. 

  • Proven success managing agile software development teams in fast-paced, product-oriented environments. 

  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native development, APIs, microservices, and CI/CD practices. 

  • Effective stakeholder management and ability to align technical outcomes with business objectives. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for business audiences. 

  • Passion for team leadership, mentorship, and building a collaborative engineering culture. 

 

Nice to Have 

  • Experience working in enterprise digital transformation or IT modernization programs. 

  • Familiarity with DevOps tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, etc.). 

  • Salesforce certifications or similar platform-specific credentials. 

  • Prior work in highly regulated or security-sensitive environments.

The annual base pay for this position is: $193,301.00 - $289,951.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5's differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
