Environmental Field Technician (Finance)

Your Role:

We are seeking an Environmental Field Technician to provide support on various environmental projects in south Texas. This person will be responsible for a wide variety of environmental field activities. Candidate must be highly motivated and reliable, customer focused and work well in a team environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel and be on-call as needed.

  • Remediation system operation and maintenance for soil and groundwater.
  • Soil and groundwater assessment sampling activities.
  • Site inspections.
  • Completion of detailed daily field notes, daily reports, and forms and checklists.
  • Conduct Health and Safety assessments and audits of project sites and teams.
  • Oversight of subcontractors that will include workmanship and safety.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; B.S. in Engineering, Geoscience or Environmental Science degree desirable.
  • Experience in environmental consulting or related experience preferred.
  • Applicants should be fluent in the English language and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Applicants should possess basic computer skills, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Current HAZWOPPER 40-hour and 8-hour update training a plus.
  • Computer Skills must include Microsoft Windows Word and Excel.
  • Physical tasks include walking over uneven and vegetated terrain, carrying field equipment and coolers (up to 50 pounds), and occasional sampling activities such as hand auguring.
  • Ability to travel for field work primarily in south Texas area and some overnight travel may be required. Field work will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, and wearing FRC clothing.
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
