Commercial Loan Specialist (Finance)



We are seeking a Commercial Loan Specialist for the Commercial Lending Department.

The Commercial Loan Specialist is accountable for pre-closing, closing, and funding activities. Pre-closing includes preparatory actions, e.g., interacting with third-party settlement agents to provide them with instructions for closing documents, inspecting their deliverables, and ensuring they have performed loan closing with Credit Human members in a professional manner. It also includes verifying the accuracy and completeness of loan data entered the loan origination system to produce accurately the needed closing documents. Closing activities involve coordinating and conducting closings with Credit Human members; expertly explaining the documents and alleviating member concerns.

In addition, the Commercial Loan Specialist is accountable for loan draws and handles monthly and year-end balancing along with the general ledger balances and completion of interim draw management activities. This role is responsible for receiving, tracking, and researching, if necessary, all third-party invoices for loan production

Experience:

    Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience of working in customer service-related position in a financial service environment. 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in working in a loan related position in a financial institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience servicing commercial and/or real estate loans.

    Preferred

  • 3+ years of experience as a Commercial Loan Closer or related role.

Education:

    Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills & Knowledge:

    Required

  • Ability to manage sensitive information 
  • Typing 40 – 45 wpm 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Organizational Skills · Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Strong work ethics and self-motivation
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • General understanding of lending regulations (Federal, State and Local)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm

Location Type: Not remote, not hybrid, on-site, in office

Level of Work: 1C

Minimum Starting Salary: $20.9862/per hour
