Pasta-Mozzarella Assistant Production Manager (Manufacturing)
Responsibilities
Records daily the weight of ingredients used, batch sizes, and amounts transferred to other outletsMakes variations in time cycles and ingredients used as necessary for succeeding batchesCares for and handles products with careful attention to quality control and waste managementWeighs, packages and labels pasta and mozzarella lab offeringsStocks display refrigerators neatly, accurately and in a timely mannerProvides guest service and information on pasta- making and mozzarella-making process to guestsCleans workstation thoroughly following food safety best practicesEnsures collateral supplies are in stock and being utilized properly in the labOther duties and functions as assigned
Qualifying Skills
Basic math skillsGood communication skillsExcellent attention to detailPrevious cheese making and/or food production experience preferred
Requirements
HS graduate or equivalent Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekendsPrior experience managing staff in a kitchen/ back of the house environmentMust be able to speak, read and understand the English languageExperience working with commercial kitchen equipmentPrevious experience managing staff
Working Conditions
Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
