ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST (Finance)

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Corresponding with customers regarding payment deductions in a fast-paced goal-oriented department.
- Responsible for research, resolution and clearing of customer deductions taken against accounts receivable invoices
- Navigate various vendor portals to research required back up for short pays.
- Accountable for reducing short payment balances for assigned accounts.
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the short payment resolution process.
- Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the resolution process.
- Must communicate & follow up effectively with sales department regarding short payments on a timely basis.
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with brokers and sales team.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience preferably with collections/dispute resolution and basic accounting knowledge
- Strong Microsoft Excel experience necessary
- Attention to detail
TRAVEL:
- Very limited as needed for training, meetings, etc.
