Senior Systems Engineer - Apple Engineering (Information Technology)

Please note, this is a hybrid position requiring 8 days per month on-site in Lakeland, FL.

Apple Systems Engineering involves defining, developing, maintaining, and advising on the effective use of Apple devices and computers within the Publix information technology architecture. 

Responsibilities:

  • Software and hardware architecture design, installation, configuration, integration, and support
  • Enterprise system management
  • Problem determination and resolution
  • Project team leadership and participation
  • Technical leadership with other engineers in specific disciplines
  • New technology awareness, research, and system integration with a focus on system security
  • Participate in on-call rotation schedule

  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, Computer Science, Business, or other analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and macOS operating systems and hardware platforms in a large corporate environment
  • 3+ years of experience managing and securing, and configuring iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and macOS devices with a Mobile Device Management solution
  • Development experience with Swift or BASH/ZSH scripts
 
  • 4+ years of experience designing, planning, implementing, and supporting large releases
  • Experience securing diverse technologies, platforms, and applications
  • In-depth experience implementing, migrating, managing, and administering the macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS operating systems in a large corporate environment
  • Experience supporting desktop productivity software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Safari, font management tools, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of development tools such as Visual Studio or Xcode
  • In-depth knowledge of Apple hardware (MacBook, iMac, iPad, iPhone, etc.)
  • Experience with automating application installation and configuration
  • Experience with Jamf Pro and Apple Configurator
  • Experience designing, documenting, managing, and deploying macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS updates
  • Ability to anticipate and identify issues that conflict with security and compliance requirements
  • In-depth understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • Experience in forecasting, planning, and managing hardware and software budgets
  • Experience leading projects from requirements through implementation
  • Experience working in a process structured environment which includes Change Management, Incident/ Problem Management and Disaster Recovery Preparedness
