ICBM Development Test Engineer (Finance)



Description

Qualis LLC is seeking a Test Engineer! This position supports the Air Force with developmental testing of the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program. As a developmental Test Engineer, you will plan, execute, analyze, and report test activities to evaluate weapon system performance. Depending on experience, areas of responsibility may include missile hardware (propulsion, guidance, ordnance, payload), software, modeling and simulation, network communications, support equipment, civil infrastructure, cybersecurity, or ICBM flight testing.

Essential Duties:

  • Develops comprehensive test plans and procedures based on system requirement specifications.
  • Identifies and defines test resources, equipment, and instrumentation required for testing.
  • Participates in system requirements and design reviews.
  • Coordinates with external stakeholders (prime contractors, facilities, government entities, etc.) for test planning and execution.
  • Briefs government leadership on test plan methodology and associated test and safety risks.
  • Oversees test execution and data collection activities.
  • Analyzes test data in accordance with a developed data analysis plan to evaluate performance against system requirements.
  • Documents system deficiencies and determine root cause analysis.
  • Prepares test reports summarizing test results, conclusions, and recommendations regarding system performance.
  • Presents findings to technical stakeholders and programmatic decisionmakers in the form of briefings and reports.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve test processes, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Adheres to all regulations and company policies related to safety, security, and compliance.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Field or a Master's Degree in an engineering field. *Experience may be substituted for education with customer approval.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Field.
  • 10 years of relevant work experience with a Master's Degree in an engineering field.
  • Experience with DoD weapon systems, acquisition lifecycle, and developmental testing as it relates to systems engineering.
  • Experience with specification requirement verification, including functional, performance and interface testing.
  • Experience with statistical methods to determine test sample sizing and performance uncertainty.
  • Experience with selecting instrumentation to collect test data.
  • Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Utilize resources effectively to accomplish work, including ability to work effectively alone and within a group.
  • Personal and organizational interactions exhibit and foster cooperation and teamwork, enhance customer relations, and actively promote rapport with customers.
  • Verbal and written communications are clear, concise, and appropriate for the audience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Field or a Master's Degree in an engineering field.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Field.
  • 15 years of relevant work experience with a Master's Degree in an engineering field.
  • Experience working with DoD organizations, test organizations, and defense contractors.
  • Experience working in a secured facility handling classified information.
  • Familiarity with development and fielding of ICBM weapon systems.
  • Systems engineering experience on a major defense acquisition program, including understanding methodologies and best practices.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering methods and tools such as Cameo and IBM DOORS.
