Utility Worker - Substations C&M - Central (Finance)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Record various information on mobile electronic device and then transmit the data into the Maximo Production System.
  • Inspect oil circuit breakers and oil circuit reclosers.
  • Check regulators and battery chargers.
  • May assist with testing, repairing and painting distribution transformers.
  • Perform snow removal, plowing, and shoveling at transmission substations, distribution substations, and communication sites.
  • Perform minor maintenance in substation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Two years or more experience with substation equipment.
    • Preference may be given to those who have a minimum of two years of work or schooling in basic electricity.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position will report regularly in person to Duluth, MN
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • In areas that require entering mines, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training may be required.
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $40.27 - $44.74. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, and experience.
