Tool and Die Maker (Finance)



The Tool & Die Maker 1 is responsible for building, modifying, and repairing tools, dies, jigs, molds, and fixtures using precision machining and bench operations. This role requires strong technical skills to ensure that all components are fabricated accurately to meet design specifications, while maintaining high-quality standards and supporting efficient production processes.

Job Details

  • Position Type: Full-time/Non-exempt (Hourly)
  • Pay Range: $22 per hour
  • Work Location: Onsite - Mundelein, IL 60060
  • Shift: 1 (7:00 AM to 4:00PM)

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed testing and inspections of completed tools and dies to verify that all components meet precise specifications and quality standards.
  • Cut, shape, and trim materials with high precision to make necessary adjustments, ensuring optimal fit and function of parts.
  • Grind, fit, and assemble parts using advanced tools and techniques, ensuring parts fit together seamlessly and meet exact tolerances.
  • Select and assess metals and materials based on their specific properties, ensuring the right choice for the application and manufacturing process.
  • Maintain a focus on safety, adhering to company policies and best practices while proactively addressing potential hazards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills/Competencies

  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow and interpret written and verbal work directions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.

Qualifications (Required):

  • Education: High School
  • Experience: Minimum of 0-2 years of experience.

Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to push/pull objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments.
