Shift: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated, reliable Off-Site Linen Distribution Technician to join our team at Northside Gwinnett Hospital. This role is essential to ensuring the efficient delivery and pickup of hospital linen while upholding the highest standards of quality and service. The ideal candidate is proactive, communicative, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport clean linen in covered carts to designated hospital departments
  • Collect soiled linen in covered carts and return to designated pickup areas
  • Verify and document linen quantities delivered to each area
  • Conduct routine linen inventory counts
  • Communicate with clients to address and resolve service issues
  • Maintain strong communication with supervisors regarding client feedback or linen quality concerns
  • Build positive relationships with hospital staff by providing responsive customer service
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety in the linen distribution area
  • Follow all hospital and company safety policies and procedures
  • Operate laundry-related equipment and perform departmental duties as needed
  • Support Joint Commission compliance and internal quality standards
  • Perform clerical tasks such as data entry and basic phone/email communication
  • Support additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1–2 years of experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or related industries
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with attention to detail
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and push/pull carts weighing up to 400 lbs
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems
  • Openness to giving and receiving constructive feedback

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for the entire shift
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, bending, and reaching overhead
  • Frequently move rolling carts weighing up to or exceeding 400 lbs
  • Must meet all physical demands required for the full duration of scheduled shifts
