Job Summary

A Process Engineer at CITGO's Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex plays an essential role to the organization as it influences the short and long term operability and profitability of various refinery areas. This position monitors operations of assigned units to determine critical process variables, being aware of allowable deviations and resolving issues where deviations occur.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Two (2) - Eight (8) years of experience in refining/petrochemical industry
  • Process Engineering experience is preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)

Job Duties

  • Optimize process or equipment in assigned area by reducing costs or improving yields and troubleshooting problems in designed areas
  • Make recommendations to resolve issues and work with Operations, Inspection, and Maintenance to optimize plant reliability and minimize unplanned outages
  • Plan and develop project ideas that are value-added working with other disciplines and groups to ensure projects are completed and provide maximum optimization
  • Provide technical support in planning and executing turnarounds and outages
  • Evaluate scope of work from a process and mechanical standpoint and be available for equipment inspection, shutdowns, and startups
  • Work with Operations, Inspection, and Maintenance to assure the correct resolution is implemented to optimize plant profitability while reducing operating costs
  • Assist with or perform any special assignments
