Multicraft Extrusion Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)



Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Multicraft Extrusion Maintenance Technician to support our blown film extrusion operations. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with proven experience in maintaining and repairing extrusion systems. Familiarity with KEB drives, B&R PLCs, and Siemens motors is essential, as is the ability to read and interpret both U.S. and IEC electrical prints.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on blown film extrusion equipment and supporting systems.Diagnose and repair issues with KEB variable frequency drives (VFDs), B&R PLC-controlled systems, and Siemens motors.Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems within the extrusion process.Interpret and work from both U.S. (NFPA 79) and IEC standard electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.Collaborate with engineering, production, and safety teams to ensure equipment uptime and performance.Maintain documentation of maintenance activities in CMMS systems.Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.Support equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning activities as needed.

Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a multicraft maintenance role within a plastic extrusion or similar manufacturing environment.Solid working knowledge of KEB drives, B&R automation platforms, and Siemens motor systems.Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, including both U.S. (ANSI/NFPA) and IEC standards.Proficient in troubleshooting control systems, PLCs, sensors, actuators, and motor control circuits.Experience with mechanical maintenance including gearboxes, heaters, thermocouples, chillers, and pneumatic systems.Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash safety, and other electrical safety practices.Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Technical diploma or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field.Experience with blown film extrusion specifically (e.g., W&H, Macchi, or Alpine lines).CMMS and maintenance reporting system experience.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in high-heat environments.Standing, bending, climbing ladders, and walking for extended periods.Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
