Project Director (Finance)



Project Director

JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE

The Project Director is responsible for administering and overseeing all aspects of management, operation, and maintenance activities for multiple wastewater treatment facilities under contract. This highly regarded position includes leading a talented team of supervisors and managers overseeing facilities. Salary range $160-$225K.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formulates project goals, strategies, and SOPs. Directs implementation of approved changes.

• Responsible for achieving growth targets through business development, contract negotiations, renewals, and scope expansion.

• Manages hiring, onboarding, performance, training, compensation, promotions, transfers, and terminations.

• Coaches individual and team performance and fosters continuous improvement.

• Ensures contract compliance and leads account management activities.

• Liaises with client representatives regarding operations, maintenance, and capital projects.

• Prepares and administers annual operating and capital budgets. Composes reports as required .

• Ensures compliance with DOT, OSHA, health and safety regulations, and conducts routine inspections.

• Oversees financial performance including invoicing and payables/receivables.

• Coordinates project activities within company processes and programs.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or 10+ years related experience. Minimum five years management experience with medium to large treatment facilities. Class A Oklahoma Wastewater Operator License preferred or ability to obtain within one year.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License.

Technical: Knowledge of wastewater facilities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office & internet. Understanding of OSHA, DOT, and Utility SOPs. Ability to interpret analytical results.

Communication: Communicates clearly & professionally. Builds positive internal & external customer experiences. Maintains composure, collaborates, requests feedback, promotes diversity, and engages in productive discussion.

Problem Solving & Quality: Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and solve complex issues. Thinks strategically and develops innovative solutions.

Managing for Results: Adheres to policies & SOPs. Effectively delegates, prioritizes, and balances tasks. Provides feedback, and manages cost, quality, and efficiency.

Leadership & Initiative: Motivates and empowers teams. Demonstrates values-driven leadership. Owns performance, seeks development, mentors others, and champions change.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: lift 30-50 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
