Dashboard Subject Matter Expert (Information Technology)

Sierra7, Inc. is seeking a Dashboard Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will provide specialized expertise in the design, development, and optimization of dashboards that support the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General (VA OIG) Enterprise Architecture (EA) Modernization initiative. This role ensures program leaders, architects, and stakeholders have access to accurate, timely, and actionable information through effective dashboard solutions. The Dashboard SME will collaborate with analysts, visualization leads, and program managers to translate complex requirements into clear, interactive, and accessible dashboards that align with modernization goals and federal reporting standards.

This is a TEMPORARY (6 months) part-time position that only requires 46 hours or less per month.
The position is located in the Washington, DC area and onsite work will be necessary.

Position Responsibilities:
• Serve as the subject matter expert for dashboard development and best practices.
• Support the design, build, and maintenance of interactive dashboards that visualize EA modernization progress, performance metrics, risks, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with data analysts, architects, and program leaders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting needs.
• Ensure dashboards integrate data from multiple systems and repositories accurately and efficiently.
• Apply user-centered design principles to create dashboards that are intuitive, accessible, and impactful.
• Support establishing dashboard standards, templates, and style guides to ensure consistency across the program.
• Optimize dashboard performance and scalability to meet stakeholder needs.
• Train and support program staff and end users on dashboard usage and interpretation.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and plain language requirements.
