Job Summary

ADS is a team of global skilled professionals and experts in Data Management, Financial Reporting, Unitized Valuation and Regulatory Reporting for Corporates, Institutions, Wealth Management, and Asset Management clients. The manager position is a strategic leadership role with responsibilities of implementing business & cross functional strategies, providing products/services oversight, drive client experience, represent new business and utilize experience gained by working on Northern Trust proprietary applications to drive enterprise change programs.

Successful candidate will have primary responsibility of directing the North America and India consulting teams, Systems Investigation team, Product Owners and Specialists in multiple domains of accounting platforms. The candidate will utilize the expertise of NT accounting and proprietary systems to meet client delivery, process migrations, drive automations/efficiency, and people/career development programs. Candidate will also be a key stakeholder to the new technology being implemented for custody and accounting book of records and additional data provisioning capabilities.

The candidate will make staffing decisions and ensure resources are available to accomplish Business unit/functional priorities, including training and development needs. The candidate will be the key decision-maker for the performance management process including the salary review process. Participates in developing division strategic plans and sets goals. Develops budget and manages expenses for the division/unit. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork and communication.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical, business knowledge and functional expertise, gained from working in accounting and data services.

• Serve as a knowledge leader for company`s proprietary accounting and reporting platforms such as Account Maintenance, Fundmaster, Tax Lot Accounting, Accounting Hub, Investor Passport, Trust systems - tools that generate financial/regulatory reporting and plan accounting.

• Utilize the knowledge and experience to build workflows, implement location strategy, migrate complex work between locations and drive cost effective solutions.

• Utilize the experience working with client servicing teams across Asset Owner, Asset Management and Wealth clients to collaborate with senior stakeholders and align reporting services of new and existing clients - evolving needs, tailored solutions and regulatory frameworks.

• Act as a key stakeholder and decision maker in the enterprise wide transformation program, leveraging domain knowledge and system expertise to enable global adoption, map current state to the future state and build a strong governance model.

• Define business requirements and lead impact assessment related to reporting architecture enhancement, LUSID.

• Ensure reporting practices comply with internal/external controls and audit requirements of international financial standards. Experience managing SOC1, SOX, GS007 audits.

• Participates in developing departmental strategic plan and sets goals, objectives and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met.

• Experience working in global locations with understanding of diverse groups and talents.

• Lead and manage a cross-functional team of SMEs and product owners supporting proprietary financial reporting tools and data delivery.

• Makes staffing decisions including hiring, training, goal setting and performance evaluations of the team. Manage expenses and salary review process for the division.

• Oversee functional resource planning and capacity allocation across multiple reporting cycles and project initiatives.

Knowledge/Experience:

• A college/university degree and/or relevant proven work experience.

• 10+ years of leadership and managerial experience working in global locations with diverse groups and talents. Direct responsibility for staffing, performance, management and budgeting within financial reporting domain.

• Deep expertise in Northern Trust proprietary financial systems and data reporting environments, including custom built reporting applications and workflow platforms.

• Extensive experience working with global institutional clients across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific aligning service delivery.

• Proven ability to manage system transformations, large scale reporting initiatives and client specific configurations.

• Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

• In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge is required

• Highly flexible and adaptable to change

Salary Range:
$123,400 - 216,000 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
