3D Systems Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated Product Development Engineer to join our dynamic team developing innovative, patient-specific medical devices. Onsite

This role has an onsite work schedule requiring the person to be at our Littleton, CO location 5 days a week.

What You Will Do

You'll work alongside quality and manufacturing engineers, designers, and technicians to bring new medical device products to life. You won't just sit in one lane - you'll wear many hats and tackle a wide range of challenges. Expect to:

  • Support and lead projects for product enhancements and new product initiatives
  • Work directly with customer partners and internal teams to define product requirements and solve unmet needs
  • Build prototypes and test early designs using 3D printing and digital workflows
  • Help create essential documentation (design history file, device master record, test protocols, specs) to support product safety and quality
  • Support cadaveric labs for design testing and validation
  • Assist with regulatory submissions (like 510(k)s) and ensure compliance with quality systems
  • Become well versed in ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820
What You Will Bring

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related engineering discipline required
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related engineering discipline preferred

Experience - Required:

  • Entry-level position welcoming recent graduates
  • Foundational knowledge of engineering problem-solving, root cause analysis, and data analysis
  • Superb writing skills
  • Excellent oral communication skills and comfort working with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills - you don't just identify issues, you propose solutions
  • A flexible, entrepreneurial mindset - you're curious, adaptable, and ready to learn fast

Experience - Preferred:

  • Exposure to design for manufacturing, prototyping, or machine shop
  • Coursework in GD&T and CAD is a plus
  • Experience with medical device regulations or design controls would be nice-to-have
  • Bonus points for any hands-on project experience, internships, or exposure to healthcare/biotech startups
  • Familiarity with regulatory concepts (FDA, ISO) and quality management systems
  • Project management experience
