Research Assistant Professor (Finance)



The Department of Molecular Medicine seeks candidates for a non-tenure track research assistant professor position with expertise in the molecular basis of neurodegenerative disease, including Alzheimer's disease, Frontotemporal dementia, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke/vascular dementia, and other neurological and psychiatric disorders, as well as aging and brain repair. Successful candidates will have extensive expertise in cloning and molecular biology techniques, as well as protein biochemical methods, and are expected to significantly contribute to both manuscript and grant submissions.

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
  • \n
  • For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.

  • Research: Perform basic and translational research in the area of neuroscience and neurodegenerative diseases. Assist with grant submissions and manuscript preparation.

  • Teaching: Will be expected to train and mentor students in the lab.
  • \n
  • Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
    Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.
