Senior Accountant (Project Management)

*This is an in-office position that offers a hybrid schedule

Summary

The Senior Accountant will be a key player on the company's accounting team and overall financial reporting function. This position will be responsible for owning accounting processes and procedures in the areas of cash, prepaids, fixed assets, lease accounting, and other assets to help the team produce accurate and timely financial statements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and analyses of assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Review and process fixed asset transactions including additions, disposals, depreciation and accruals to ensure proper recognition in accordance with GAAP and aligning with company policies.
  • Aid in the completion of external auditing requirements on an interim and annual basis.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the department with a specific focus on the fixed asset function.
  • Serve as backup for processing daily cash activity as well as other functions as needed.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc analyses and to harmonize & support the growth of the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in public or private accounting
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Experience with account reconciliations, accrual calculations, and preparing journal entries
  • Ability to utilize technology to find efficiencies and improve existing processes
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office programs
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines, prioritize tasks, and communicate roadblocks proactively
  • Proven ability to work independently while being a team player
  • Experience with WorkDay Financial Management a plus
