Principal Systems Engr (Finance)



Principal Systems Engineer
You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
The Principal Model-Based Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of complex systems. This position requires advanced expertise in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and serves as a technical lead on projects, guiding teams in applying MBSE methodologies to enhance system performance and stakeholder communication.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in systems engineering, with substantial exposure to model-based practices.
• Expertise in systems modeling languages and tools such as SysML, UML, Cameo, or similar MBSE tools.
• Experience providing guidance and coaching to direct/indirect reports.
• Proficiency in system design and architectural aspects of complex systems, including hardware, software, and network components.

• Certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, ESEP)
• Caltech MBSE - Fundamental and Advanced Certifications or equivalent will be added advantage.
• Experience in leading complex system integration projects.

• Lead the development and management of complex system models to represent requirements, design, and architecture.
• Drive the adoption of MBSE practices across projects and teams, mentoring other engineers in systems modeling, analysis, and best practices.
• Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to define project scopes and objectives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Conduct thorough trade studies and systems analysis to evaluate design alternatives, including cost, risk, and performance factors.
• Oversee the integration of systems and components, ensuring compliance with requirements and performance specifications.
• Develop frameworks and guidelines for modeling standards, tools, and methodologies employed within the organization.
• Document and present complex system concepts and designs to diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, management, and customers.
• Manage the lifecycle of system engineering processes including requirements definition, change management, verification, and validation.
• Foster a continuous improvement culture by evaluating existing processes and suggesting enhancements in MBSE practices.
