Senior Developer (Finance)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Developer to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our development and deployment pipelines. This role is critical to ensuring seamless integration between enterprise applications and driving the adoption of modern DevOps practices across the team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technologist with a passion for automation, scalability, and mentoring others.
First 3 Months Objectives:
In the first 90 days, you will be expected to quickly get up to speed on our existing systems architecture, DevOps workflows, and integration points across enterprise platforms. A key priority will be understanding and organizing our current Azure deployment structure and strategy, identifying gaps, redundancies, and areas for simplification. You'll begin implementing a more orthogonal and modular approach to deployments. One that promotes consistency, reusability, and clarity, making it easier for other team members to follow and contribute. You'll also conduct a thorough assessment of our CI/CD pipelines and integration processes, delivering early improvements in automation, performance, and reliability. By the end of your first three months, you should have delivered tangible updates to at least one integration workflow, streamlined a portion of our deployment pipeline, and proposed a clear roadmap for modernizing and standardizing our DevOps and Azure practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust, scalable integration solutions across enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS, custom applications) using REST, SOAP, and modern API standards.
- Collaborate with business analysts, application owners, and development teams to define integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Lead DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline design, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing using Azure DevOps.
- Optimize Azure-based deployments, covering provisioning, monitoring, security, and release management to ensure reliable and secure operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration and deployment issues to ensure system availability and data consistency.
- Evaluate and implement tools, workflows, and automation strategies that enhance development velocity and operational efficiency.
- Document integration architectures, processes, and tools, and provide training to support team adoption.
- Mentor developers and IT staff on coding standards, DevOps tools, and best practices to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of application development experience, with at least 3 years focused on systems integration.
- Proven experience with Azure DevOps, including Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts, and Boards.
- Proven experience deploying on-prem applications (e.g., ERP, database servers) and integrating them with cloud-based SaaS platforms.
- Strong scripting skills (C#, Java, JavaScript, .Net, SQL).
- Proficiency with databases (SQL Server) and data transformation techniques (JSON, XML, CSV).
- Experience as an applications programmer on large-scale database management systems.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD principles, branching strategies, and deployment automation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or equivalent.
- Experience integrating enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS, Identity platforms).
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
- Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
