Parts Programmer (Finance)



Parts Programmer

Develop programs that will efficiently machine and process production parts on computerized numerically controlled machines to company/customer specifications.

Essential Functions and Activities:

  • Analyzes job orders, drawings, blueprints, etc. and performs the necessary calculations to determine the sequence of shaping operations.
  • Selects cutting tools required to perform operations.
  • Develops/modifies programs to control machining and processing of part and stores information on disk.
  • Loads machine routings and set up and run times into MRP system (JDE).
  • Ensures that machine programs operate correctly and that parts meet specifications.
  • Supports and participates in Morgan Olson's PPS team efforts.
  • Adheres to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer-focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
  • Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required, higher level education preferred
  • Basic knowledge of computers and electronics and machine tool experience
  • Good mechanical ability and must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • High degree of accuracy
  • Knowledge of Auto Cad and Microsoft Excel is required
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, knowledge of mathematics and use of active listening skills
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
