Honeywell's Value Engineering (VE) and Component Engineering (CE) Center of Excellence (COE) is a dynamic collective of professionals dedicated to refining product development through innovative engineering and strategic component selection. Working in tandem with GBE's Engineering and Procurement teams, the VE/CE COE is a global entity tasked with the critical mission of enhancing product margins and driving productivity, thereby securing Honeywell's competitive edge in the global market.

We are currently looking for a Hardware Engineer II to work on developing products using core Hardware and Electrical and Electronic engineering skills.

As a Hardware Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will contribute to hardware design from concept to production, collaborate on requirements, design complex systems, perform testing, and support junior engineers. You will report directly to our Senior Hardware Engineer Supervisor and you'll work out of our Fort Washington, PA location.As a Hardware Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will contribute to hardware design from concept to production, collaborate on requirements, design complex systems, perform testing, and support junior engineers.   • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • 8 - 12 years of experience in developing Electrical / Hardware design.

WE VALUE:

  • Experience in Value Engineering and Component Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Value Engineering methodologies.
  • Familiarity with should costing.
  • Strong understanding of Analog and Digital Electronics design.
  • Hands-on experience with various serial communication protocols such as SPI and I2C.
  • Practical knowledge of Microcontroller interfacing, Analog to Digital data conversion, and designing with op-amps, transistors, MOSFETs, linear & switching regulators, and current output (4-20mA) circuits.
  • Familiarity with Value Engineering and alternative methods to achieve the same performance at a lower cost.
  • Awareness of the latest technologies and low-cost alternative designs/technologies is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with error budgeting for electronic circuits.
  • Knowledge of sensors, instrumentation, and signal conditioning electronics.
  • Ability to conceptualize products and translate requirements into Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters for design.
  • Experience in PCB schematics and exposure to layout design using ORCAD/Mentor Graphics.
  • Good understanding of Design for Manufacturability, assembly, and testing expertise.
  • Understanding of product certification requirements.
  • Experience handling engineering change requests and engineering change orders.
  • Demonstrates accountability by collaborating with others for the design, implementation, and delivery of subsystems/products.
  • Strong business communication skills: interacting with partners at global locations, local team members, management stakeholders, and customers for requirements capturing.
  • Works with all stakeholders to ensure that technical objectives are met within the constraints of the given project/program.
  • Active participation in project planning and execution phases for technical risk management.
  • Understanding of product certification requirements.

  • Work in a global team with responsibilities and ownership for Electrical design in Value Engineering (VE) and Component Engineering (CE).
  • Design & development experience in Field Instruments like Industrial Pressure Transmitters, Temperature transmitters, Mercury Instruments, Industrial Measuring & Control Instruments
  • The responsibilities include schematic development, circuit analysis, component selection, detailed design, verification testing, arriving inference from the test results and interfacing with cross functional/support teams (such as mechanical, manufacturing process, simulation, drafting, ECAD, evaluation, marketing, supply chain and external test labs).
  • The candidate will be working along with various teams such as design, simulation, drafting, evaluation, manufacturing, marketing, and supply chain.
  • Additional responsibilities include technical report generation, documentation, and progress reporting.
  • It is also expected that the candidate would develop technical expertise in the product lines quickly to develop VE/CE ideas.
  • Candidates are expected to have good knowledge in Electronics design with the ability to use this knowledge on VE/CE ideation.
  • Proven record of design delivery in a New Product Introduction (NPI) team for at least 4-8 years.
