Software Engineer II (Finance)
Join the Verisk Extreme Event Solutions team as a Software Engineer II, contributing to the development of cloud-based, high-performance analytics that help organizations manage risk in a changing world. This role is designed for engineers with a strong technical foundation and a desire to grow within a collaborative, agile environment. You'll work alongside experienced developers to build scalable systems and deliver impactful solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable analytics tools using C# and .NET Core.
• Collaborate on the implementation of AWS-based architectures, including services like Lambda, S3, and data pipelines using Parquet and related technologies.
• Contribute to test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code efforts.
• Work closely with senior engineers to deliver high-quality, performant code.
• Troubleshoot issues in development and production environments.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to ensure software quality and maintainability.
• Support the full development lifecycle including planning, implementation, and post-release support.• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of professional software development experience post-MS, or 5+ years post-BS.
• Proficiency in C# and .NET Core for application development.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services (e.g., Lambda, S3) and efficient storage formats like Apache Parquet.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance tuning.
• Experience with unit testing, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to Docker and container-based development environments is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Python is a plus.
