Sr. Director Strategic Sourcing (Finance)



As a Director of Strategic Sourcing here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in driving the procurement strategy and initiatives to achieve cost savings, improve supplier performance, and ensure supply chain continuity. You will lead a team of procurement professionals, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and establish strong supplier relationships. Your expertise in strategic sourcing and supply chain management will be instrumental in driving business growth and competitiveness.

You will report directly to VP Supply Chain for our Energy & Sustainability Solutions (ESS) division, and you'll work out of a hub location (Charlotte, NC, Houston, TX, or Rosemont, IL) on a hybrid work schedule with 3 or more days per week in the office. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the financial performance of the business through support of all growth initiatives, creation of a robust pipeline of cost savings, working capital improvements, and supplier quality initiatives. You will be responsible for developing and executing annual and strategic procurement plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives. At Honeywell, we are very focused on Accelerating Growth and you will have responsibility to partner with various Commercial teams to establish a robust inbound supply chain to support all growth initiatives. You will lead sourcing transition initiatives to optimize the supply base, achieve the lowest total cost, and reduce sole/single source risk. Additionally, you will drive improvements in sourcing processes and performance through effective management operating systems.As a Director of Strategic Sourcing here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in driving the procurement strategy and initiatives to achieve cost savings, improve supplier performance, and ensure supply chain continuity.YOU MUST HAVE

• 10+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management

• Strong leadership and people management skills

• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing procurement strategies

• Demonstrated transformational leadership experience to support accelerating growth and dynamic mergers & acquisition environment

• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills

• Knowledge of sourcing processes and tools, such as SAP and e-sourcing platforms

• International experience with exposure to high-growth regions

• Executive presence to make compelling presentations to executive leadership

• Cross-functional experience in planning, engineering/technology, operations, supply chain

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field

• Master's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field

• Professional certifications in procurement, supply chain, or contract management

• Demonstrated business and financial acumen

• Experience with project management tools and methodologies

• Strong knowledge of the chemicals or process manufacturing industry

• Experience in procurement for discrete manufacturing environment, or experience in project procurement, in addition to chemicals, is a plus

• Ability to lead change and build high-performing teams

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strategic thinking, influencing, and problem-solving capabilities

  • Establish a robust inbound supply chain for all growth initiatives, including risk management strategies
  • Deliver business results including productivity, working capital improvement, supplier performance (quality and delivery) and continuity of all Indirect materials and services
  • Develop and implement strategies to enable global spend leverage and competitive pricing, quality, delivery and risk management with the supply base
  • Lead all procurement related activities for multiple upcoming acquisitions and any future divestitures/spins
  • Lead and develop the Procurement leadership team
  • Drive alignment between procurement and all other supply chain & commercial teams, processes and key business deliverables
  • Lead and drive Honeywell's procurement strategy for the division
  • Lead supplier development and strategic supply base management
  • Responsible to lead all Business Continuity Plans with supplier base to deliver risk mitigation plans and ensure quick recovery from any crisis or disaster situations
  • Develop and drive the talent pipeline for Procurement, including mentoring and coaching upcoming talent
  • Drive synergies and strategy around transition projects
  • Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships to support business needs
  • Effectively consolidate tail suppliers with identified strategic and preferred suppliers
  • Identify and develop new/current suppliers, globally and within each region, who have the capacity and capability to meet the growth, cost, quality and service needs of the business
  • Understand competitive trends in key geographic markets for alternate materials or services to ensure Honeywell has "right" competitive supply solutions
  • Ensure policy compliance across the categories
  • Connect back with Corporate Procurement at the HON level to ensure adherence to all Global Design Models in accordance with Honeywell Accelerator framework
