Lead Wind Technician (Maintenance)

The role of the Lead Wind Technician is to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions and perform preventative maintenance on wind turbines. Additionally, this position will serve as project lead. They are the primary contact for management and customers and will be partnered with entry level technicians to train and develop strong skillsets. This position reports to the Field Service Supervisor.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay Range: $30.00/hr-$40.00/hr (commensurate with experience and education)

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as project lead
  • Travel regularly to turbine sites as needed, which may include overnight stays or short-notice deployments
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and general service on wind turbines
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical issues
  • Perform diagnostic electrical analysis
  • Maintain and inventory company issued tooling and equipment
  • Complete and submit reports upon job completion
  • Submit daily and per diem time accurately and on-time
  • Train & mentor entry level technicians
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of relative experience
  • Minimum 2 years of supervision
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and retain training
  • Ability to use basic word, power point and excel
  • Must be willing to travel by Motor Vehicle, Plane, etc.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
