Nurse Mgr-Ambulatory (Cardiology) (Finance)



Nemours is seeking an Ambulatory Clinic Nurse Manager (Cardiology) FULL-TIME to join our team in Orlando, Florida.

The Ambulatory Clinic Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for the clinical operations, quality, and service of assigned clinic locations and divisions. This position is responsible for ensuring adequate clinical and support staffing, meeting daily operational requirements, and addressing operations needs as they arise. The Manager promotes patient- and family-centric care and helps facilitate Nemours' shared governance model for ambulatory care, modeling the Nemours Standards of Behavior and Values.

Job Duties:

  • Promotes a patient and family-centered care model promoting the nurse patient partnership and the professional role of the nurse.
  • Manages assigned Ambulatory Clinic staff promoting a healthy work and learning environment.
    • Insures adequate training of new staff and ongoing training of existing staff.
    • Maintains adequate coverage in the assigned clinical area and when necessary, provides justification for changes in staffing levels.
    • Hires, counsels, and provides disciplinary actions to Ambulatory Clinic staff as necessary.
    • Provides feedback and coaching to staff on an ongoing basis utilizing the Nemours Standards of Behavior.
    • Performs timely annual performance reviews for all assigned staff in accordance with Human Resources policy and procedures.
  • Along with the AVP of nursing or Sr. Director of Nursing, monitors expense and assures compliance with the budget.
  • Along with the AVP of nursing or Sr. Director of Nursing and operational leadership, provides justification for necessary capital and operational expenses.
  • Ensures effective and efficient utilization of resources in daily management decisions.
  • Supports and operationalizes the integrated model of care.
  • Assures nursing compliance with regulatory readiness agencies.
  • Leads quality improvement projects designed to improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Models a caring philosophy focusing on health promotion and safety education.
  • Champions' age -appropriate developmental considerations and holistic patient care.
  • Directs nursing planning and policy making through constructive collaboration in key committees.
  • Must have the ability to work well with others, have good communication skills and regular attendance is required.
  • Champions continuous improvement activities and serves as a coach and mentor to ambulatory clinic staff.
  • Collaborates closely with surgeons, physicians, and advanced practice practitioners to optimize clinic performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current State of Florida RN License required.
  • Current AHA BLS Certification required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience required. Management experience preferred.
  • Cardiac ambulatory experience preferred.
  • Travel to multiple locations required.
