Shipping and Receiving Lead (Finance)



Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the receiving and outbound shipping department
  • Ensuring that all incoming packages, materials, products, and supplies are properly inspected, stored, and accounted for
  • Ensuring that outgoing shipments are prepared and delivered on time
  • Providing work assignments of their staff daily
  • Hiring and training new and existing employees on the techniques and procedures used in completing work assignments
  • Operating pallet jacks, lift trucks, and any other equipment to move parts to their proper locations and load and unload steel trucks whenever necessary
  • Verifying materials against receiving documents, noting, and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, and arriving and dispatching the cargo in a tracking software
  • Performing shipping duties within FedEx, UPS and DHL software
  • Oversee daily backlog of shipments within the company ERP system and adjust workload accordingly
  • Perform weekly, monthly and quarterly KPIs and metrics for the department and report to manager
  • Lead cycle counting, 5S for weekly and monthly requirements
  • Approve timecards for shipping and receiving team members, approve time off requests
  • Managing safe work practices and enforcing company EHSE and HR policies and adhering self and employees to PPE related to the workplace

Education - Experience - Qualifications
  • High school diploma required, Associates preferred but not required
  • Attention to safety, quality and on time delivery of goods and services.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • 3-6 years previous shipping and receiving along with leading or supervising 1-2 years required.
  • Qualified/certified forklift driver, trainer certification preferred.
  • Intermediate to Advanced PC, Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills written oral and inter-personal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Be organized and efficient.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and self-discipline traits.
  • Have a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills needed to deal with a wide range of individuals.
