Minnesota Power is seeking two (2) Enterprise Project Managers to join our Engineering Services department to successfully execute enterprise project initiatives. These roles will provide project management and team leadership for complex, large-scale enterprise capital projects including high voltage transmission lines, HVDC systems, solar and wind energy projects, and energy storage initiatives, all aimed at supporting Minnesota Power's EnergyForward drive to achieve 100% carbon-free energy. When you join our Engineering Services team as an Enterprise Project Manager, you will take the lead on implementing robust project controls to ensure adherence to safety standards, timelines, budgets, sourcing requirements, environmental regulations, sustainability targets, and resource management goals. Additionally, you will monitor project quality and ensure all deliverables meet the required standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides project management and team leadership on large capital projects of complex scope and magnitude for the organization.
  • Manage internal and external company resources in areas including technical, financial, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure that appropriate project controls are in place and executed while meeting project safety, schedule, budget, sourcing, environmental, sustainability and resource management goals.
  • Must have a strong project management, engineering, and construction background.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree PLUS eight or more years of related experience
    OR
  • Associate degree PLUS ten or more years or related experience
  • Experience in project management, process improvement, vendor/contract management or related field.
    • Professional engineering license, advanced professional degree (MBA), and certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant Project Management Institute (PMI) certification program is highly desired.
    • Experience in engineering and operations with utility experience is strongly preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • These positions may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee's position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee's home office. These positions may report to one of the following locations which will be determined at the time of hire between the company and the selected candidate: Duluth, MN; Cloquet, MN; Eveleth, MN; Cohasset, MN; Coleraine, MN; or Little Falls, MN.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as travel is required.
  • Must exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for fostering and maintaining positive relationships inside and outside the company.
  • These positions may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • The expected annual compensation range for this position is $117,000 - $146,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
