Purpose:

Repair Integration Engineer will collect and prepare the repair development data. Each new bearing part number that is requested by our customers to be repaired (level I, level II, or level IV repair) needs to be evaluated by the repair and engineering personnel to determine that the bearing can be process for one of the levels of repairs. Bearing geometrical, dimensional, and fit-up data must be derived from measurements of customer supplied bearings and available library data (engine manuals, illustrated parts catalogues, standard procedures, etc.).

The incumbent will be responsible for various aspects of machine repair and maintenance in support of the shop process including implementation planning, machine trouble shooting, repair, reconditioning and modification.

The incumbent will lead teams for installation and use of new equipment and document repair process techniques for new equipment. The incumbent will conduct process evaluation studies including process capability and measurement system analysis.

The incumbent will be responsible to support quality and repair station to ensure that the inspection, repair, and overhaul processes meets schedule, customers' requirements, regulatory, and quality standards.

The incumbent will be responsible to take ownership of full integration of new projects from startup to completion

Responsibilities Include

  • This position is very critical for the overall manufacturing process since the data collected and the router (work order) prepared for the new bearing will flow throughout the entire manufacturing process.
  • The ability of deriving the repair data is in direct correlation with the quality of the repair by assuring that the bearing satisfies the fit, form, and function as required by the Federal Aviation Administration operation certificate.
  • Has a direct influence over the efficiency of the manufacturing process and the repair turn time.
  • Instrumental in assuring the proper flow through the manufacturing process since the router generated shall incorporate the design and manufacturing of tools and fixtures needed for the bearing repair.
  • Assure that there is a close correlation among company departments in order to assure that fixtures and tools required are provided to the floor prior to receipt of the customer order for the specific bearing.
  • Lead new repair process development through transition to production, organic growth projects, and continuous improvement per the Timken process model, to launch products on time and within budget constraints.
  • Perform process capability analysis and measurement system analysis.
  • Conduct Special Engineering projects including but not limited customer bearing evaluation reports.
  • Coordinates the launch of new process and equipment with all levels of production to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Participates in engineering problem-solving teams for improvement or corrective action activities. Evaluates and reports information to engineering management that supports the initiation of improvement efforts.
  • Perform machine trouble shooting and repair, determine periodic maintenance requirements and implement with facilities.
  • Reviews and improves functionality of the business operating system (Epicor). Note: A background check may be required to completely fulfill the job requirements.
  • Implementing improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and/or improve product quality. Preparing and establishing reliable operating procedures.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair of malfunctioning equipment from assemblies to component level (diagnostic to component level).
  • Solid knowledge of computer aided design is preferred, able to interpret blueprint and schematics is a plus.
  • Attention to detail with high accuracy in designing, testing, and calibrating repair assemblies after repair.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal support, and support team projects as require
  • Must be a US citizen or a legally authorized foreign worker in ITAR environment.

Qualification/Skills:

  • Min. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related, with 3 years related experience degree.
  • Able to read and understand complex technical publications.
  • High level computer skill with MS office, Familiarity with ERP business system structure is a plus.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals.
  • Working level understanding of geometric tolerance practices is required

Salary Range: $85K - $105K annual
